Chrominance-signal processing device enabling decrease in its frequency has generator for producing oscillating signal of predetermined frequency, chrominance-signal subcarrier generator that functions to receive oscillating signal to produce chrominance-signal subcarrier, chrominance-signal demodulator for demodulating chrominance signal incorporated in composite video signal, chrominance-signal subcarrier generator for receiving oscillating signal to produce chrominance-signal subcarrier of lower frequency, chrominance-signal modulator for receiving chrominance signal coming from chrominance-signal demodulator and lower- frequency chrominance-signal subcarrier for generating low-frequency chrominance signal. When signal is processed in NTSC or PAL system, chrominance-signal processing device functions to process chrominance signal by means of oscillating signal.
