TRAVELING DRILL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment for single-row and hole drilling of coniferous tree seeds on newly cut felling areas cluttered up with felling remains without preliminary preparing of soil in all forest zones. SUBSTANCE: traveling drill has frame, gear disk and seeding device made in the form of drum with seed chamber. Seeding fingers are fixed on cylindrical surface of drum in equally spaced relation in common vertical plane, with radial angle between seeding fingers being equal to 60 deg. Each seeding finger has two pipes inserted one within the other. Inner pipe is fixed on drum and has disk positioned at its lower part and provided with two seed holes, and stop rim positioned at its upper part and provided with captive nut for pivotal fastening to outer pipe. Outer pipe has gear ring for providing rotation of pipe, cutter attachment with seeding disk and two furrow cutters with coverers. Drill may be attached to tractors of different types so that it may travel along tractor track. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction, operation and maintenance, reduced labour and production cost per hectare of forest crops. 5 dwg
