FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture of sealed flux cored electrode consisting of metal sheathing and powder charge for electric arc welding and surfacing. SUBSTANCE: method comes to shaping metal cold-rolled strip into chute and filling the chute with powder-like mixture, subsequent forming chute into tube, connecting metal sheathing and drawing tubular blank to desired diameter of electrode. Tubular blank with joined edges is subjected to drawing. Diameter of blank exceeds diameter of ready flux cored electrode not less than 2.2- 2.5 times. EFFECT: reduced labour input in manufacture of flux cored electrodes, increased efficiency owing to simplification of production process and reduced number of drawing cycles. 1 dwg
