FIELD: formation of antifriction, wear-, fretting- and heat-resistant electric spark coats on parts of friction units. SUBSTANCE: coat is deposited at no-load voltage of 10.0-200.0 V, short-circuit current 0.5-10.0 A, energy of pulse discharge 0.04-5.40 J, vibration frequency 50.0-100.0 Hz of electrode tool, rotational speed of 200-700 s-1 of electrode tool around its axis. Electrode tool is moved over surface of part in lateral and longitudinal directions with frequency of 2- 1000 Hz and amplitude of 1-100 min/cm2 in the course of specific time of 0.6-10.0 min/sq.cm. Coat is then polished with removal of 10-30% of thickness of deposited layer. Device has in addition mechanism of longitudinal translation of electrode tool over surface of part and unit automatically controlling clearance between electrode tool and part. EFFECT: increased thickness and improved quality of coat. 8 cl, 1 dwg, 4 tbl
