FIELD: remote check of mains for leaks; automatic control systems of oil, gas, water and other product transportation pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: method consists in measuring the active components of currents consumed by electric motors of pumping units at the beginning and at the end of linear section of pipe line, determination of amount of mismatch between them, comparison with preset permissible mismatch; in case this permissible magnitude is exceeded, control action for locating leakage of pipe line is generated. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of pipe line. 1 dwg
