FIELD: pipeline engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes monitoring of the active components of currents consumed by the driving electric motors for pumping plants of pumping stations and monitoring of voltages at the clamps of the power circuits of electric motors and remote transfer of information to the control computing unit which calculates power consumption of the plants and when this value exceeds a permissible one a command is sent for localizing a pipeline segment to be protected.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of pipeline operation.
