FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: method includes hydrolytic polymerization of caprolactam in presence of 0.1-4 wt.% of boric acid at 180-165 C followed by preparation of polymer to extrude threads and fibers by drying and simultaneous removal of low-molecular compounds. EFFECT: increased yield of caprolactam and simplified process due to excluded operation of extraction of low-molecular compounds, and reduced power and water consumption. 1 tbl, 1 tbl
