FIELD: decontamination of liquid radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: radioactive wastes are brought in contact with clay at temperature of at least 180 C and held so for 6 h. Process is usually conducted at liquid-to- solid phase ratio of 10:1. In the process, water is cleaned of impurities which are reliably immobilized in solid phase.
