FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing probe provided with electrodes into the lumen of a gastroenteric tract organ. The electrodes are directly engaged with the matter filling the organ. Resistance is measured and its magnitude is used to evaluate organ cross-section area and its mechanical activity. The measurements are carried out within rather long time period when digestion process, periodical starvation activity, gastroenteric tract pathology and drug action study conditions take place. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reliability in recording characteristics of gastroenteric tract operation.
