INNER SOLE-ARCH SUPPORT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: rigid cover-plate is clued on soft leather inner sole. Cover-plate relief is somewhat higher than natural arch of healthy foot, but it is lowered to normal position at vertical load (in standing position). Underneath layer of chamois (soft leather) is glued additionally on cover- plate. Oval insert is arranged between inner sole and front part of cover-plate. With its flat base insert lies on front part of cover-plate, and with upper convex part it projects under inner sole, thus forming semi-rigid rest which contacts distal regions and heads of second, third and fourth metatarsal bones. Dimensions and form of arch support and especially in insert are determined proceeding from foot pathology and treatment prognosis. EFFECT: prevention of foot deformations. 2 dwg
