METHOD OF PNEUMATIC TYRE MANUFACTURE AND DEVICE FOR MAKING PNEUMATIC TYRE TOP REINFORCEMENT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: tyre industry. SUBSTANCE: in proposed method of pneumatic tyre manufacture a set of different components of pneumatic tyre mounted in turn on support is installed for turning around axle, pneumatic tyre components being fitted in place in strict compliance with design of pneumatic tyre. Tyre reinforcement thread is fed through one tube, and mounting head is moved across over support. Thread is fed to reinforce support top. With thread fed into mounting tube, it is cut to form thread lengths which are fed through mounting head and are connected with support featuring self adhesion properties. Device for making tyre top reinforcement has special means for laying the thread in designed place on support and support drives to provide rotation of support around axis of symmetry. Device has mounting members to take in thread from distributor and place the thread in preset place in space in radial direction above support. Mounting members are furnished with at least one mounting tube located at inlet of thread from distributor and provided with inlet to take thread fed from distributor outlet and to move thread inside mounting tube until it is connected with mounting head. Device has means providing movement of mounting head across over the support. Proposed method and device make it possible to form any reinforcement members of tyre top from one thread spool at any angle formed by cord thread of load bearing members relative to middle plane square to axis of rotation of pneumatic tyre.
