METHOD OF AND MOULD FOR MAKING OF TYRE CASING Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: tyre industry; pneumatic tyres. SUBSTANCE: mould for making of tyre casing has two parts 2 for forming outer surface of side strips and peripheral rim for forming outer cap. Rim is made up of members 1 adjoining each other and arranged over circumference. Members 1 are radially oriented plates. Thickness of each member is equal to 1-5% of its length measured in parallel with axis of mould, preferable thickness being 0.1-5 mm. Each member 1 is deformed to increase its overall size in circumferential direction relative to its thickness in state free from any stress. Deformations of two adjacent members are directed opposite to each other. Radial displacement of members is checked by means of conical holders 3 and ring 4 flexibly holding the members. EFFECT: possibility of assembling of components on rigid core with subsequent moulding and curing of tyre. 15 cl, 8 dwg
