METHOD OF AND MODULE FOR MANUFACTURING PNEUMATIC TYRE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: tyre industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to production of pneumatic tyres on base whose shape is close to final shape of made pneumatic tyre. According to proposed method uncured blank is assembled and then cured using flexible diaphragm with delivering air into diaphragm. This diaphragm holds rubber forming inner layer of pneumatic tyre in process of assembling. Air is delivered into diaphragm under pressure to form supporting toroidal base for subsequent assembling of tyre on base. Uncured blank is moulded by placing rubber forming inner layer of pneumatic tyre onto diaphragm and putting all tyre components in required sequence. Blank is cured and then air is bled from diaphragm and the latter is taken out of pneumatic tyre. Rubber forming inner layer of pneumatic tyre is placed by winding tape onto diaphragm, providing adhesion of raw rubber to diaphragm, and holding raw rubber tape in process of winding. Module used in manufacturing of pneumatic tyres has flexible inflatable diaphragm compressed after removal of pressure, diaphragm holder providing gripping of diaphragm for its displacement. Holder base of toroidal shape is provided with branch pipes for circulation of heat carrier required for curing. Module has rigid wall installed on disk and adjoining the diaphragm when the latter is inflated. Wall is located outside the diaphragm and is installed for displacement in radial direction when tyre is separated from module after curing, with possibility of turning in radial direction for creating uninterrupted surface serving as supporting plane when assembling the pneumatic tyre.
