FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: method provides for clarifying oil-containing waste waters by electrocoagulation followed by passing water through sorbent. To increase water clarification degree and productivity, electrocoagulation and sorption operations are carried out at absolute pressure over surface of water from 10 to 50 kPa and, as sorbent, polyacrylamide fiber is used. Highest waste water clarification degree is achieved by additionally ozonizing water passed through sorbent. Method allows purifying industrial drains to residual concentration of petroleum derivatives from 0.1 to 0.3 mg/l. EFFECT: intensified water clarification. 2 cl, 3 tbl
