FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of continuous gas phase preparation of vinyl acetate from ethylene, acetic acid and oxygen on heterogeneous catalyst. In the claimed method oxygen content is increased at reactor inlet and explosion proofness is maintained throughout all flowsheet sections by admitting fresh ethylene into two out of three flowsheet points: before desired product and unreacted acetic acid recovery area, before carbonate purification unit and before acetic acid evaporation unit, ethylene supplied before desired product and unreacted acetic acid is not higher than 50%, and before carbonate purification unit, is not higher than 60% of total volume of ethylene consumed. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex, 2 tbl
