FIELD: oil producing industry, in particular, methods for development of oil fields by water flooding. SUBSTANCE: method includes injection into oil formation of gel-forming composition in which aluminum salts are used in the form of liquid alumino-containing wastes of industrial processes with content of aluminum salts from 8 to 25 wt.% and carbamide is preliminarily dissolved in these wastes with components in the following ratio, wt.%: liquid alumino-containing wastes, 20.0-75.0; carbamide, 15.0-50.0; water, the balance. EFFECT: higher oil recovery due to increased sweep of formation by waterflooding; simplified process of preparation of gel-forming composition, and improved ecological situation due to utilization of liquid alumino-containing wastes of industrial processes. 2 cl, 2 tbl
