FIELD: water supply and heating systems. SUBSTANCE: water heater has housing, hood, water heating means, cold water inlet and hot water outlet systems and member in form of closed reservoir for additional heating of medium. Closed reservoir is made for installation inside housing or independently from housing and is provided with branch pipe for connecting detachable pipe of variable height with float, cold water inlet and hot water outlet systems and means providing tightness of housing when cover of closed reservoir is removed. Variable height pipe with float is connected by lower end to upper outer branch pipe of closed reservoir being arranged inside housing of water heater or outer tank-accumulator and is connected inside tank-accumulator in place of hot water feed from outer closed reservoir when it is arranged outside tank-accumulator. Water heater has additional heat exchanger for heating water by heat carrier from external heat source. Closed reservoir and variable height pipe connected to reservoir are heat insulated. Shutoff-and-control device to regulate heated water passage through pipe is arranged in place of connection of pipe lower part. EFFECT: reduced consumption of energy and metal. 4 cl, 5 dwg
