FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: proposed device is designed to provided protection of railway tanks of different design and application from bullets, fragments and large particles of ground, both when standing and in motion, with no additional mass load on tank and axles of running gear bogie wheelsets. Device has protective shield installed with clearance relative to tank and made of stationary and turnable sections and segments and furnished with bearing framework including upper and lower bearing belts and main and auxiliary bearing uprights. At least one pair of main bearing uprights located at diametrically opposite sides of tank interacts, through series-connected braces, support posts, damping devices and freely turning devices, with additional wheelset placed between bogies of tank running gear and is connected through attachment units with members of tank running gear. All bearing uprights of framework are furnished with shaped shock absorbing members connected to uprights and arranged with clearance and equidistantly relative to tank surface. End face sections of load bearing framework are connected with cantilever sections of tank sill through connecting members. EFFECT: protection of tank from damage and prevention of contamination of environment by dangerous cargoes carried in tanks. 12 dwg
