FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes three stages and comprises (1) preparing 2- chloroethylacetamide from N-acetylethanol amine and thionyl chloride on heating in benzene, toluene or chloroform (2) alkylating pyrocatechin N-2-chloroethyl acetamide at molar ratio of reagents of 1:2 in n-butyl alcohol in the presence of sodium hydroxide and catalytic amount of TEBA; (3) hydrolyzing 1,2-bis (N-2- acetylaminoethoxy) benzene with aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide on heating, subsequently extracting n-butyl alcohol of 1,2-bis-(2-aminoethoxy) benzene, and removing solvent.
