SELF-SINTERING ELECTRODE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2121247 C1

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: self-sintering electrode installed in melting furnace where it is used has body made from current conducting material that carries internal radial hard vertical fins. Carbonaceous unsintered paste is fed into body and sintered with formation of solid electrode under action of electric current supplied to electrode. Internal radial vertical fins are produced from hard carbonaceous sheets attached to internal side of body and having proportion of radial length to thickness exceeding 1: 5. EFFECT: diminished content of iron in self-sintering electrode. 10 cl, 6 dwg
