FIELD: oxidation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: aluminum hydroxide layer is applied onto carrier from sodium hydroxide and sodium aluminate solution in presence of aluminum metal. Carrier with aluminum hydroxide layer is separated from solution, and aluminum hydroxide is thermally dehydrated to form aluminum oxide layer, to which one or several substances thermally stabilizing aluminum oxide and one or several catalytic substances are added. Method is more productive, quality of layer is more reproducible, and catalyst is more effective in oxidation of CO and hydrocarbons.
