FIELD: preparation of ore for its direct reduction in fluidized bed. SUBSTANCE: method includes drying of fine-crushed ore with the help of hot drying gas passing through ore particles. Drying gas after passing ore particles is cleaned to free it from entrapped powdery particles of ore and powdery particles are collected and added to dried fine-crushed ore. To avoid disturbance of the process in further treatment of ore due to excessive content of powdery particles present in ore, drying is carried out in whirling bed with concurrent blowing of fine-crushed ore. In this case, drying gas is passed through fine-crushed ore with formation of whirling bed and velocity of drying gas is maintained at the level at which practically all powdery particles of ore sizing below preset values (less than 200 mcm) are trapped. Then powdery ore particles trapped by drying gas are separated, collected and added to dried fine-crushed ore in dosed quantity. The plant for embodiment of the claimed method has vertex drier with gas burner, device for cleaning of spent gas and separator for separation of powdery particles from gas. The device is also provided with collectors of separated powdery particles and dried fine-crushed ore, and mixer for their mixing in preset ratio, for instance, from 10:90 to 30:70. EFFECT: reduced expenditures for process and excluded disturbance of process of reduction of fine-crushed iron ore occurring due to presence of large amount of powdery particles. 10 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
