FIELD: methods of direct reduction of materials containing iron oxide in the form of particles by method of fluidized. SUBSTANCE: method includes subjection of initial material to preliminary reduction with reducing gas at least at one stage of preliminary reduction, and then reduction to sponge iron at stage of final reduction. Reducing gas is produced partially from supplied fresh reducing gas and from top gas produced in direct reduction of iron-containing material, and supplied at stage of final reduction where it is reacted. Then, it is withdrawn and its one part is supplied to at least one stage of preliminary reduction. After its conversion is stage of preliminary reduction, one part of gas is withdrawn, scrubbed and in conclusion, it is withdrawn as top gas. The other part is passed through branched pipeline, scrubbed, cleaned from carbon dioxide, heated and then used as a reducing gas. Fresh reducing gas is produced from synthesis-gas, for instance, reformed gas, and entire reducing gas supplied at stage of final reduction is cleaned from carbon dioxide at a single stage of gas preparation and conditioning of chemical composition, and at the end it is heated. The plant has a device for gas preparation and its chemical conditioning installed before reactor located in the end, in direction of material passage and to which gas heater is connected.
