FIELD: erection of reservoirs. SUBSTANCE: initial edge and end edge of roll of reservoir wall after cutting off the mounting allowance are butt-assembled and fastened to jig whose inertia moment is determined by relation of diameter, height and thickness of wall and having outer flexure whose value is determined by relation between heat input of welding and wall rigidity. Jig has vertical and horizontal ribs located in immediate proximity from vertical and horizontal sections of welded joint of wall providing for possibility of welding from both sides. Joint is welded starting from middle belts to opposite sides from joint inside and outside. In so doing, first, the vertical sections of joint are welded and then, horizontal sections of joint. EFFECT: improved quality and reduced labor input in erection of roll reservoirs, mainly, with stepped field joints of wall. 2 cl, 7 dwg
