FIELD: stomatology. SUBSTANCE: method of treating and preventing carries is based on dependence of change of nonlinear-optic properties of dental enamel upon its irradiation with submillisecond pulses of laser emission to increase resistance of enamel against carries. Method takes into account relation between generation efficiency of the second harmonic of intensive emission of picosecond neodymium laser in dental enamel and degree of its laser damage. Enamel is additionally irradiated with neodymium laser emission pulses, whose duration does not exceed 100 ps and energy density ranges from 0.1 to 5 J/sq. cm. Glow intensity of dental enamel is registered at frequency ω = 2ωo where ωo is frequency of neodymium laser emission. EFFECT: increased safety of treating dental enamel. 2 dwg
