FIELD: testing combustible materials; devices for measuring rate of combustion of fuel samples burning in parallel layers, for example, polymer composite material. SUBSTANCE: device includes hermetic combustion chamber with sample of fuel of front combustion inside armored sleeve and light conduit made from material transparent in visible area of spectrum and mounted along its axis; inlet and outlet are located on side of open and heat-insulated ends of fuel sample, radiation receiver adjoining outlet end of light conduit and recorder with time marker. Light conduit is made from material sublimating in combustion area at rate equal to rate of combustion of fuel sample. It has row of holes. Geometric axes of these holes are perpendicular to geometric axis of light conduit. Fuel sample is made from polymer composite material. EFFECT: modulation of radiation flux from combustion front to radiation receiver; increased number of results of measurement. 2 dwg
