FIELD: oil refining and petrochemical industries. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing high-octane component of motor fuel by alkylation of isoparaffins with olefins in the presence of sulfuric acid continuously fed into horizontal reactor with spent acid being simultaneously withdrawn for regeneration at isobutane to olefin volume ratio in stream admitted into reactor of 5-10:1 and temperature of 5-7 C. By varying amount of fresh acid and spent acid withdrawn for regeneration, content of hydrocarbons in spent acid is not higher than 3 wt %. EFFECT: increased yield and improved characteristics of the desired product. 1 tbl
