METHOD FOR MINING OF COAL SERIES IN MARGINAL ZONES OF OPENCAST Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes driving from opencast of permanent workings, and productive workings and coal mining in extraction blocks. Driven from permanent workings along each seam parallel to opencast flank is airway from which productive workings are driven and extraction blocks are developed and coal pillar is left between airway and opencast flank to ensure isolation of extraction district. Extraction blocks are mined with leaving of coal pillars for supporting of seam roof and with filling of worked out spaces. Extraction blocks are worked out by strips along the shrill or to the dip with leaving between them of coal pillars with use of self-propelled coal shearers and circular or spiral methods of mining. In so doing, extracted strips are periodically connected with worked out strips earlier to ensure ventilation of faces due to mine general depression. In working of extraction blocks by circular method, additional workings are driven parallel to workings outlining the extraction blocks. From these additional workings subordinate development workings are driven and extraction strips are mined. Working of extraction blocks is started from lower geodetic elevation point of extraction district with filling of worked out space. EFFECT: preservation of ground surface for fruitful activity of man, and provision of fire safety of underground wealth in worked out districts. 5 cl, 3 dwg
