FIELD: separation of loose materials in upwards air flow under action of gravitational forces. SUBSTANCE: pneumoclassifier has vertical shaft 1 of rectangular section with sets of contact members 2 and arranged inside it. Upper contact member 2 consists of perforated V-shaped shelf 4 and four flat shelves secured on walls of shaft. All shelves are interconnected. Lower contact member 3 consists of two V-shaped shelves and two flat shelves. Separator 6 mounted above shaft is used to avoid accidental escape of large particles from classifier. Branch pipe 7 fitted in upper portion of housing is used for delivery of starting material and branch pipe 8 fitted in lower portion of housing is used for delivery of air. Starting material delivered continuously through branch pipe 7 moves downwards over contact members 2 and 3 breaking into four flows on contact member 2 and then breaking into five flows on contact member 3; starting material is permeated by flow of air which smoothly distributes particles of material in height of shaft while flowing through contact members 2 and 3. Light fraction is removed through branch pipe 9 fitted in upper portion of housing and heavy fraction is discharged through branch pipe 10 fitted in lower portion of housing.
