FIELD: mechanical engineering; separation of loose materials in ascending current under action of gravity forces. SUBSTANCE: air classifier has cylindrical vertical 1 with transfer devices 2 in form of truncated cones secured in housing with larger bases pointed upwards installed in pairs in one horizontal plane, and separating members 3 in form of truncated cones secured with smaller bases pointed upwards on axle member is installed coaxially with housing and on branch pipe 5 of source material. Ring separating members 7 with Λ - shaped section are secured on axle member 4 by means of tie-rods 6 and arranged between neighboring pairs of members 2, 3 alternating in height. Separator 8 installed above housing precludes spontaneous escape of large particles from classifier. feeder 9 with charging hopper 10 is mounted on separator. Branch pipe 5 serves for delivery of source material, branch pipe 11, for delivery of air, branch pipe 12 for taking off air with fine fraction, and branch pipe 13 serves as large-size fraction receiver. transfer devices 3, separating members 3 and ring separating members 7 can be made perforated. EFFECT: enhanced quality of gravity separation of materials. 2 cl, 6 dwg
