FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pneumatic classification of various powder materials in multicolumn classifiers and may be used in chemical industry and mining concentration of minerals, etc. Proposed classifier comprises hollow housing with bottom made up of inclined gas distribution grid, vertical baffles arranged above said grid to make separation channels with overturning shelves, dist-air mix discharge branch pipe arranged at housing top, loading and discharge branch pipes, air feed branch pipe, all being arranged at housing bottom. Overturning shelves are mounted on vertical baffles at acute angle between shelf and vertical baffle and directed upward along separation channel to form slot passages between vertical baffle and shelf. Slow passage width makes not over 10% of separation channel width.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and accuracy, expanded range of sizing.
