FIELD: railway transport; permanent way. SUBSTANCE: to check condition of railway gauge angular oscillations and coordinates of wheelset axle box are found which are characterized by matrix of directional cosines of angles between systems of coordinates coupled with wheelset axle box and horizontal coordinate trihedral. then coordinates of points of contact of left and right wheels of wheelset are found. Position of rail lines in level is expressed difference vertical coordinates of points of contact of left and right wheels. Sagging of each rail line is expressed as difference in vertical coordinates of wheel contact points corresponding to two time moments. Device has inertia measuring module coupled with on-board computer. Computer is designed for calculating position of rail lines in level, sagging of rail lines and deflection of rail line by coordinates of points of contact of left and right wheels of wheelset determined using algorithm of inertia navigation coupled with rail gauge width meter and other meter.
