FIELD: railway transport; checking and evaluating condition of rail tracks. SUBSTANCE: device has body vertical and horizontal acceleration pickups installed on suction part of track measuring rail car, axle box vertical acceleration pickups installed on wheelset axle boxes outside car body portion, n contactless pickup of optical waves of measurement of vertical and horizontal displacements of rail head relative to car installed on outer surface of car bottom, two contactless pickups of optical gauge width measurement waves installed on wheel bogie outside car body portion, axle box- to-car body vertical displacement pickups installed on car body, odometer installed axle box of one of wheelsets and gyroscopic system to determine relative bearing angle and roll and pitch angles of car body relative to horizon plane installed on board the track measuring car. Outputs of pickups are connected to corresponding matching devices for analog-digital conversion of information and bringing it to common format. Device has computer complex with input - output bus, first and second personal computers. Outputs of matching devices are connected through input-output bus to inputs of parallel port of first personal computer for collecting information, its preliminary processing and calculating parameters of rail gauge. Inputs-outputs of series interface of first personal computer are connected with inputs-outputs of series interface of second personal computer for analyzing, processing and putting out information.
