FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: method is applicable for rapidly revealing and identifying illegal narcotic means on the bases of alteration of color in sample being examined. Sample is treated with diazo compound in the form of solution in methylene chloride and then with 2.0-5.0% solution of monoethanolamine in isopropyl alcohol at pH 8.9-5.0, after which presence of sought compound is judged of from alteration of color.
