FIELD: nuclear gamma-resonant spectroscopy. SUBSTANCE: method involves deposition of cobalt on rhodium substrate, heating and holding obtained specimen under residual pressure of not over 10-3 Pa. Heating is made at the following rate: up to 950 C at maximum 1.0 deg.per s; from 950 to 1000 C at 0.3-04 deg. per s; from 1000 to 1100 at 0.20-0.25 deg.per s, from 1100 to 1200 C at 0.6-0.7 deg.per s; from 1200 to 1350 C at 0.3-04 deg.per s. Specimen is exposed to temperature of 1335-1365 C for at least 20 min. During heating and holding at high temperature, substrate is placed between two crystal plates. Mentioned heating and exposure conditions provide for adequate distribution of Co-57 in rhodium matrix enabling steady production of narrow-line sources with resonant line width of 0.130 mm/s with Co-57 charge of up to 500 millicurie/sq.cm on radioactive spots of 3.5-6.5 mm in diameter. EFFECT: improved distribution of Cobalt-57 in rhodium matrix. 3 cl
