METHOD FOR INFORMATION INPUT TO COMPUTER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: computer engineering, in particular, training equipment, interactive computer games, remote input of three-dimensional information to computer, control of robot, manipulator, or another controlled object. SUBSTANCE: method involves scanning of space of expected position of controlling object by color TV cameras, generation of real optical images of scanned space, measuring of three- dimensional coordinates of controlling object, detection of values of its three-dimensional coordinates, inputting values of three-dimensional coordinates into computer. During this process method involves detection of regions of controlling object which correspond to reference points in its graphical image, assigning identification color to each of detected regions of controlling object. Said identification color differs from color of other objects and of background. In addition method involves labeling selected regions of controlling object with labels carrying colors selected for given regions. EFFECT: possibility to input complete and partial information about three-dimensional coordinates of controlling object into computer. 3 cl, 4 dwg
