SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a device for assisting tracking, which includes: a unit for specifying the target to be tracked, which issues instructions so that captured images, which are stored in a recording device, are displayed on a monitor and, in response to an input operation performed by an observing person in order to designate a moving object to be tracked, specifies the designated moving object as the target to be tracked; a candidate selection unit which selects as a candidate a moving object with high probability of corresponding to the moving object specified as the target to be tracked; a unit for displaying an image of the candidate which retrieves as the image of the candidate a captured image in which the moving object was included and instructs the monitor to display the image of the candidate such that the observing person selects the suitable image of the candidate; and a unit for correcting tracking information which replaces the target to be tracked with the moving object associated with the selected image of the candidate, and corrects the tracking information.

EFFECT: providing tracking assistance which, if the tracking information for a person designated as a target to be tracked, includes an error and enabling correction of the tracking information.
