FIELD: electronic engineering; electron guns for high-power O-type devices. SUBSTANCE: electron gun using low-voltage stub control has multibeam hot cathode incorporating set of emitters mounted on common holder, gate electrode electrically isolated from cathode and made in the form of plane-parallel metal strip with holes whose axes are aligned with those of emitters, members fastening hot cathode and gate electrode to vacuum-tight high-voltage insulator. Each emitter is provided with additional gate electrode in the form of stub electrically connected to main gate electrode; each emitter has central bore for coaxial arrangement of stub in a spaced relation determined by analytical expression. All stubs are mounted on common base beyond hot cathode on side where the latter is fastened to high- voltage insulator. EFFECT: simplified design and reduced weight of power supplies, improved reliability and service life of gun. 2 cl, 3 dwg, 2 tbl
