FIELD: vacuum electronic devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural elements of vacuum electronic devices with a thermionic cathode, more precisely to cathode units for powerful (60-1200 kW) electron guns for electrothermy. High-power electron gun cathode assembly contains an air-cooled radiator, a high-voltage insulator with a cathode-heating assembly holder attached to it, a main cathode with a focusing electrode and a direct-heated auxiliary cathode, direct-heated busbars and vacuum power inputs, a bushing, one end of which is connected to the holder, and the other is connected to the focusing electrode of the main cathode. In addition, a glass is introduced, vacuum-tightly connected to a high-voltage insulator, the bottom of the glass is connected to the holder and an air-cooled radiator is inserted into it, the connection of the sleeve with the holder of the cathode-heating unit is threaded with an external thread on the sleeve, and the connection of the sleeve with the focusing electrode of the main cathode is made bayonet.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the cathode assembly.
