METHOD FOR MOUNTING CONTACT TERMINAL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: manufacturing of electric equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves mounting contact terminal into socket of housing with stem extending from socket, and fixing contact terminal, which has shoulders formed by difference between width of body of contact terminal and its stem using tool which is designed as channel-beam guiding tray, which flanges in their face side are equipped with cutting blades and wall has flat abutment. When contact terminal is mounted into socket of housing, shoulders are located over housing surface. Then said tool is put by its guiding tray towards shoulders of contact element and is drawn until its abutment rests into housing surface. Then shoulders are cut by cutting blades of this tool. In case if stronger connection of terminal is required, then cutting of shoulders is accompanied by curling cut pieces using edge of instrument which is shaped as wedge transforming into cylindrical surface. In case of simultaneous mounting of several contact terminals in housing or insulation board of electric equipment, method is performed by instruments combined in packet.
