FIELD: mining machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: hard-alloy insert of rock-crushing tool of mining machine has cutting part and shank. Cutting part is made in the form of body of revolution. Shank is formed by intermediate part and tail part which are conjugated to each other. Intermediate part of shank is in the form of truncated cone of revolution. End part of shank is configurated as cylinder of revolution. Length of cutting part of insert is not more than 6 times longer than length of intermediate part of shank, and its length is not more than 2 times longer than length of end part of shank. Length of cutting part of insert over its longitudinal axis is not less than 0.9 and more than 1.5 of length of insert shank as measured over same longitudinal axis. Aforesaid embodiment and configuration allow for cutting power consumption during process of crushing especially hard materials with hard inclusions. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 3 dwg
