FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: method consists in essential or complete removal of ammonium sulfate formed upon direct oxidative ammonolysis of propylene (propane) with ammonia and oxygen-containing gas (e. g. air) in fluidized bed of catalyst. Improvement resides in adding oxygen-containing compound(s) in reactor in the site where compound(s) reacts with essentially all excessive ammonia without affecting yield of acrylonitrile. Methanol is advantageously added into reactor at temperature below its coking temperature. In particular, when fluidized-bed catalyst is used working at low oxygen content, additional amount of oxygen-containing gas is introduced into reactor at distance from about 8 to 14 inches from methanol introduction site. EFFECT: improved environmental condition. 24 cl, 14 ex
