FIELD: road-building machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: mounted in front part of spreader undercarriage is bucket for material to be spread and conveying device for delivery of material from bucket to auger-type spreading device which is located behind bucket and in front of spreading bar which can be extendible and/or lengthened. Spreading bar is located laterally with respect to longitudinal axis of machine. Spreading bar is connected by tie-rods to undercarriage. In process of operation, spreading bar floats on material being spread. Bar is divided into two halves in its middle in direction of longitudinal axis of machine and is provided with mechanism allowing for adjusting lateral profile of material being spread. Spreading bar is provided with side walls at its ends. Aforesaid arrangement of components of material spreader prevents twisting of spreading bar and creation of clearance between halves of bar and also between undercarriage or front frame of machine and front part of side wall. Tensioning mechanism is introduced and its tensioning force is adjusted by means of power cylinder which is pivotally connected to undercarriage of machine. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
