FIELD: mechanical engineering; sealing of compressor and pump rods. SUBSTANCE: rod seal has split sealing rings placed in working chamber, with ring groove on outer surface of each ring, and flexible members fitted in above-indicated ring grooves. To provide constant compensation for wear of sealing rings, down to wearing down of their larger part, each sealing ring is provided with at least one pair of through cuts parallel to each other, cuts of each pair being tangential to inner surface of sealing rings in diametrically opposite points and in opposite directions.
