FIELD: pyrolysis of wood and other types of low-grade solid lump fuel carrying volatile substances to produce fuel coals. SUBSTANCE: given pyrolyzer includes two furnace chambers 1, 2 to perform drying and pyrolysis of starting mass arranged to form one unit and having firing gears 3 above which two retorts 4, 5 with holes 6 in their lower parts to release vapors and gases are positioned. Chambers 1, 2 have fixtures 7, 8 for circulations of fumes, vapors and gases located inside chambers along their vertical lines. Inlet 9 of firing gear 3 of each chamber is linked with conduit 10 to outlet 11 of firing gear 3 of the other chamber. In correspondence with invention outlets 11 of firing gears of furnace chambers 1, 2 are interconnected by conduit 12 adjacent to conduit 10 and collecting conduit 13 fitted in middle part brought into chimney. Windows 15, 16 are made in wall 14 common for conduits 10, 12 in area of outlets of firing gears 3. Each window and conduit 10 are provided with common flap gates 17, 18, gates 19, 20, 21, 22 are installed in conduit 12 in section between collecting conduit 13 and windows 15, 16, in wall 14 common for conduits 10, 12 and in free ends of conduit 10. Flap gates 17, 18 can be provided with holes 23 to supply air. EFFECT: enhanced specific productivity of process and improved quality of produced coals. 1 cl, 1 dwg
