PLANT FOR PRODUCTION OF WOOD CHARCOAL Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: wood pyrolysis; applicable in production of high-grade raw wood charcoal. SUBSTANCE: plant has furnace, retort with holes for intake and discharge of flue gases, discharge of steam-gases and for introduction of air jet. Retort has cover in its upper part and appliance of circulation of flue gases from fuel combustion. Appliance is located inside retort along its vertical axis for free horizontal motion, for instance, with the help of chains to prevent jamming of wood in retort space and to provide uniform heating of wood. In addition, retort with cover is coated with heat-insulating molded material. The plant provides high-temperature conditions of pyrolysis zone, exclusion of heat losses from retort through its wall and occurrence of stresses resulting in cracks formation.
