FIELD: production of compositions for metal treatment. SUBSTANCE: heating of aqueous mixture of such fluorine-containing acid as H2TiF6 and such an oxide, hydroxide and/or carbonate as silicon dioxide results in transparent mixture with prolonged stability to settling of any solid phase even in cases when before heating the phase of oxide, hydroxide or carbonate it is presented dispersed solid material in the form of particles large enough to be easily disseminated, and the mixture before heating became turbid. Mixture prepared by heating may be mixed, either with water-soluble and/or dispersed in water polymers which are polyoxyalkyl-substituted polymers and/or copolymers n-vinyl phenol, or with water-soluble hexavalent and/or trivalent chromium with resulting composition which improves metal corrosion resistance after metal treatment with this composition, especially after subsequent painting.
