FIELD: boring chucks used in capacity of holders of cutting tool in machining of holes on boring and other metal-cutting machines. SUBSTANCE: boring chuck has body, tool holder located in body locating hole, mechanism for moving the tool holder in the form of micrometer screw and screw for locking the tool holder. Made in locating hole of chuck body and on mating part of tool holder are flat contact areas. Besides, chuck body has supporting surface for tool holder on the side of cutting edge. Screw for locking the tool holder is installed with displacement from center of body locating hole towards the side of cutting edge of tool holder. EFFECT: higher rigidity of chuck due to exclusion of radial displacement of tool holder relative to chuck body and exclusion of vibrations of end part of tool holder with cutting edge. 4 dwg
