FIELD: technology of surface heat treatment of structural alloys and articles made of these alloys with concentrated energy fluxes; may be used in various branches of mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes multiple heating of article working surface with pulses of low-energy high-current electron beam with pulse duration of 1-5 mcs, electron energy of 20-40 keV, energy density depending on chemical composition of alloy within 10-20 J/sq.cm and number of pulses of not in excess of 10. Required energy density is selected within such interval as to provide for the pulse duration for full liquid-phase dissolving of coarse (up to micron and higher) particles, and also full or partial dissolving of submicron separations of the second phases present in initial state but noticeable evaporation of surface layer is absent which may increase roughness of surface, i.e. impair its quality with such selection of energy density, the rate of electrochemical corrosion is reduced by 1-2 orders and wear resistance is increased by 1.5-2 times as compared with initial state. EFFECT: higher efficiency due to increased corrosion and wear resistance of machine parts made, mainly, of stainless steels or aluminum alloys, and higher radiation safety. 4 tbl
