INSULATING ADAPTER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to equipment intended for electrocontact heating of oil in well and can be used in devices included in equipment of oil wells in production of oil. Insulating adapter has two head-pieces with threaded connecting members and insulating member which is made in the form of insulating unit. Insulating unit incorporates alternating insulating gaskets made for example from thin film and metal washer and insulator which are electrically insulated from head-pieces. Insulating unit by its one side rests against shoulder provided in one of head-pieces, and by its other side insulating unit interacts with other head-piece for example through such intermediate components as threaded bush and pipe. Both head-pieces are made with tapered surfaces. Made along their generating lines are smooth recesses which in combination with tapered surface create space to be filled with insulating interlayer made for example from quick-hardening reinforced material. Located on internal surface of adapter is insulator made in the form of pipe filled with quick-hardening material. Aforesaid embodiment of adapter enhances its reliability with retaining its insulating properties. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
